Geneviève Castrée was born in Québec City in 1981 and has been drawing comics in a somewhat serious manner since the age of fifteen. She self-published and participated in many fanzines during her teen years and eventually started to have her work published by l'Oie de Cravan, a poetry publisher from Montréal. So far, four books have been made, "Lait Frappé", "Roulathèque Roulathèque Nicolore", "Pamplemoussi" (which comes with a twelve-inch vinyl), and "Die Fabrik" (which was published in Germany by Reprodukt). The latest appearance of Castrée's work was in "Drawn & Quarterly Showcase Three". Castrée has contributed to magazines and exhibitions in Canada, the United States, Japan, France, England, Slovenia and all over Scandinavia and has spent the last year-and-a-half working on "Tout Seul dans la Forêt en Plein Jour", a book-record inspired by war and conflicts of all kinds. Her drawings are usually a little dark and they are only getting darker.
